![]() I also got SFV on PS4 and PC because I liked SF so much from what I tried. Now I own SFIV on PC, PS3, and PS4 (with a good bit of DLC purchased on all 3), SFxT on PS3, and Skullgirls on PS3 and PC (including 3 other copies of SG I bought for friends. 3 games I can name that I played tons of after downloading them were Street Fighter IV, Street Fighter x Tekken, and Skullgirls (yes, that indie one hurts modern me the most too). When i was a teen (well, a younger teen at least), I pirated tons of games because i had no income and didn't want to spend what little hard earned money i owned on games i wouldn't know if i liked. They'll just skip it altogether and look for another game to kill the week/month it takes to get cracked. What people don't understand is that people who primarily pirate games aren't going to buy a game because they have no avenue to get it for free. ![]() What they give a damn about is sales, and only that.Ĭlick to shrink.I don't understand this logic on the execs' part. We can pad each other on the back and yell that piracy never costs sales, but a board room of shareholders doesn't give a damn. Until this is the case, we'll see it continue, because a few loud customers being gone is always less of a worry than hypothetical lost sales, regardless how many of those are lost in reality. Using this kind of DRM must cost a company more than piracy can. THIS needs to change if you really want Denuvo to go away. And, an even bigger fact: So far, the companies have enough data to convince their shareholders that the customers lost due to DRM are smaller in number than the sales lost to piracy. And yes, fact is, it costs sales - we know this since the Atari days. Buying the DRM games and then complaining isn't helping, it's not solving a thing.įact is, piracy is a thing. The PC, meanwhile, has plenty of ways to avoid buying games that have DRM. So far, this isn't the case for the console games I bought, so consoles definitely have no issue. The only problem with DRM is when it harms buyers or makes games unplayable in the future. No,console games aren't plagued by this, and you can play them fine. Q: Does Denuvo only impact a small part of PC games, and therefore, skipping PC games because of Denuvo is silly?Ĭmon folks. Q: Do console games work fine even if consoles are "DRM" somehow?
